REQUEST
FOR FUNDING
We
seek financial aid and/or sponsorship from individuals and groups who
support art that empowers diversity and global communications. We are
an emerging collective, not a corporate entity with secured backing or
foundation of revenue. We are highly disciplined professional artists
with international careers who choose to devote our artistry to promote
native sovereignty.
We create from the ground up, making the costumes, generating our promotional
materials, and booking our concerts ourselves. Many of us come from tribal
backgrounds that do not have financial security. Every dollar raised for
prospective performance and touring will be utilized resourcefully for
maximum impact. We seek funding for the entire group of thirteen, so that
intertribal first nations may be well represented.
DANCING EARTH members are selected not only for talent, but also for ability
to carry themselves with respect and discipline, healthy living, cultural
values, and awareness of representation of their peoples. Sponsors can
be confident that their funding will be recognized as supporting artists
who are honorable and inspirational both onstage and in daily life.
