DIVINE FEMININE IN ALL BODIES! 
Sundays, Sept. 24th & Oct. 1st  
10-11am PT  .  11-12pm MT  .  12-1pm CT  .  1-2pm ET
 
 
Dancing Earth is honored to co-host 2 online workshops with “New Matriarchs of Narragansett First Nation”! These two workshops are part of Artistic Director's, Rulan Tangen, exploration of her emergent movement of MIXED-ICISM as the process for an itinerant body of work for eco-feminism and eco-liberation. A multidisciplinary, multi-sensory, multidimensional, mysterious and magical will centering the wisdom of the body that may include writing and drawing.
 
Everyone is invited including BIPOC and ally matriarchs (open definition including mothers, culture carriers, and makers who bring dreams into being).

  • Resilience and Rigor with joy
  • Restoration through Re-story-ing
  • Relationship and Reconnection with inner and outer landscape

  • ReGeneration that comes from Reciprocity and Compassionate Reflection

CLASS BREAKDOWN
  • 5 min Welcomes, intention, orientation, and invitation to share.
  • 50 min 'Movement as Medicine' for all humans, regardless of dance background.
  • Final 5 min Will be a group reflection circle about what is joyful, challenging, and what transformed during our time together.
 
ACCESSIBILITY
  • In partnership with our co host, we open this invitation to courageous survivors of domestic or family violence to reclaim empowerment through sovereign embodiment and restorative practices for wellness.
  • As a survivor and supporter, Rulan welcomes those with Cancer, Chronic illness, Covid, including all Caretakers, to be able to participate even without a camera, lying down.” Movements can be modified to even lying down on bed and listening, imagining is a powerful ‘movement’!
 
BRING
  • Open mindedness, imagination, intuition and your full being
  • Layers of clothing for warmth and comfort and able to move
  • Barefoot or socks
  • Blanket or yoga mat
  • Water bottle
  • Notebook and pencil/pen

We invite your courage, creativity, compassion and care - and welcome you to BRING A FRIEND! Lets experience wellness, creativity, and movement in circle, building strong and vibrant communities! We extend this special invite to those who have joined or expressed interest in movement sessions in the cyber-world  in the past year, to join this movement series, with Creatrix and Dreamvisioner Rulan Tangen.

We honor “In the Presence of the Sacred” Program Director, Dancing Earth Advisory Council member and matriarch Anemone Mars - eldest daughter of the beloved and respected medicine woman Wenonah Caroline Brown. We express gratitude for her program’s partnership of support from Narragansett Tribal Child and Family Service Department, to uplift her community. With love, gratitude and utmost respect we honor Wenonah’s lifetime of tireless dedication to Narragansett Nation’s wellness and continuance - the ultimate Matriarch, may she rest in peace and power, never to be forgotten by the man  Native and non-Native people across the Northeast, the US, Canada, and beyond - whose lives she powerfully impacted for the better.
