In Phoenix this month, Rulan met with ASU for development of exciting projects for 2009, incorporating collaborations with Phoenix community in a wide range of areas, from environmental studies and indigenous foods, to the more conventional artistic fields such as film, music, and fashion. She also met with the Heard museum who will be commissioning a major solo in homage to the artwork of Pueblo multi-disciplinary artist Nora Naranjo-Morse, to be shown on January 31. Rulan will also offer workshops at schools of Gila River Crossing and on the Salt River Pima reservation that week, as well as an invitational to pre-professional dancers to join the company warmup for the dress rehearsal.While in Phoenix, she re shot an additional scene for THE END, directed by Alex Aeraz, which began filming last fall. Raoul Trujillo can be seen on HBO this month in the Vampire Series True Blood.On the morning of October 18th, on Canyon Road in Santa Fe, Rulan will participate as dancer/model in the exhilarating outdoor 'Paint Out' event organized by the brilliant Roseta Santiago, to bring together the vibrant artistic community for a day of collaboration and celebration
