What Is Watermark?

Where the ephemeral
becomes enduring

Watermark is the final phase of the Confluence — dedicated to creative multidisciplinary archiving, legacy, and the amplification of what was set in motion during Phases 1 and 2.

Phase 3 participants commit to the full fifteen days, June 1–16, receiving everything in Ebb and Flow before continuing into six additional days of creative multidisciplinary archiving. This is where the ephemeral becomes enduring — where movement that existed only in a body, in a moment, in a place, is held with love and carried forward to reverberate outwards infinitely.

Each artist directs their own short dance film with peer support — for enhanced sharing of story and legacy-making. A career tool that lives far beyond this gathering: grant-ready, fellowship-ready, residency-ready. We work with film, photography, community sharing, and the creation of a living record that extends the work far beyond its ephemeral moment. Pop-up performances and community offerings in Santa Fe bring the work into the life of the city and surrounding communities.

Participants receive professional photo and video documentation of their solo or small group work, including a personal reel delivered within 30 days, as well as placement in the Dancing Earth archive. Your movement, held with love, to reverberate outwards infinitely.

"To see you connect it — and to see you pursue that and share it and fuse it with your own background — makes me think about what it means to be mixed and how to create for the future."
